What people do when they really perform CPR
When you renew your CPR training you have not received much if any guidance on how you should adjust your compressions so you are performing to within the standards set b the guidelines. This means that often the compressions are not effectively pushing blood for the victim.
Here are some common things that people do.
Some people fail to allow the chest to fully recoil. The chest will naturally spring back into its relaxed position however you must remove all of your weight off of the chest to allow this to happen. Some people perform all of their chest compressions without allowing the chest to fully release.
Most people (more than half of all people) push the chest too deeply.
Most people (more than half of all people) push a bit too quickly.
Performing chest compressions for several minutes is physically very demanding. People get tired quickly. As you get tired you tend to perform less accurately.
SmartMan will make it easy for most people to adjust their performance to bring it into the standard provided by the guidelines. Once you do this you will be certain that you are providing the maximum potential benefit to a victim.
