What SmartMan Measures
Scientific studies are appearing regularly that confirm the better your perform, the better the victim's chance of survival.
SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS
- DEPTH: SmartMan© measure depth from the time you start until the time you end a compressions. The software can thus calculate whether you are pushing the chest to between 1.5 inches and 2 inches as recommended by the guidelines.
- RATE: SmartMan© measures what you are doing 100 times per second. The duration of every compression is measured. The guidelines recommend a rate of 100 per minute which works out to an average duration of 0.6 seconds for each compressions.
- RELEASE OF CHEST: The guidelines stress the importance of allowing the chest to fully return to its natural position before you begin the next compression. SmartMan© will accurately measure whether you have allowed the chest to recoil. It will also measure how far you have kept the chest compressed if you have not allowed the chest to recoil.
